What is Leaky Gut Syndrome? Leaky Gut Disease Symptoms and treatment.

Leaky gut syndrome:- This is a disease related to your intestines. In this, the intestinal lining acts like a filter. It decides what will be absorbed into your bloodstream and what will stay out. When it is healthy, it keeps toxins, bacteria and undigested food where they should be. When it is unhealthy, the intestines become weak and damaged, in which small holes are formed. This is called leaky gut. Due to this, harmful germs and bacteria keep leaking into your body.

There are many reasons for leaky gut, here are some important reasons due to which you can have gut-related diseases in your body. Such as wrong eating habits, being under stress for a long time, taking too many medicines and some other diseases can also happen.

  • Food:- Eating too much fried food, sugar and alcohol can also harm your gut.
  • Medicines:- Using too much of medicines like painkillers and antibiotics can also be harmful.
  • Stress:- Being stressed for a long time can also prove to be dangerous for your health.

Leaky Gut Disease Symptoms

People with this disease may experience the following symptoms.

  • Digestive problems:- bloating, gas or diarrhea and constipation
  • Feeling tired and lack of energy
  • Headaches
  • Food sensitivity
  • Skin problems:- Acne or rashes on the skin
  • joint pain
  • Brain fog or difficulty concentrating.
  • Diagnosis of Leaking Gut

There is currently no proven medical cure for this intestines-related disease. Some experimental tests like the lactulose mannitol test are done to treat this disease but are not widely available for clinical diagnosis.

Management

As we know there is no recognized medical diagnosis for this disease but we can keep our gut healthy by keeping certain things in mind.

  • Eating a balanced diet rich in fiber, fruits and vegetables
  • Consuming processed foods and sugars
  • Reducing stress as much as possible
  • Avoiding unnecessary use of medicines like painkillers
