Hypertension is also known as a high blood pressure and other name is “silent killer” because it rarely shows symptoms until it has been caused to the body. According to WHO there are over 1.2 billion people globally suffering from Hypertension disease.

What is Hypertension

Hypertension occurs when the force of the blood against the artery walls is consistently too high. Blood pressure measured in two numbers.

  • Systolic pressure:- the pressure of blood when heart beat ( upper numbers)
  • Diastolic pressure:- the blood pressure when the heart rests between beats ( lower numbers)

Normal blood pressure is about 120/80 mmHg. Blood pressure above 140/90 mmHg is considered in high blood pressure

1). Lifetimestyles choice:- blood pressure causes lack of exercise, smoking, alcohol consumption and unhealthy eating meals.with high salt.

2). Genetics:- Hypertension can be Genetics can increase the risk

3). Chronic condition:- in Hypertension diabetes, obesity and kidney problems an also contributed

Symptoms of high blood pressure

High blood is often asymp, but in server cases, it can cause like

  • Headache
  • Short of breath
  • Blurred vision

Risks of uncontrolled Hypertension

Hypertension can lead to

  • Heart attack and stroke
  • Kidney damage
  • Vision loss
  • Aneurysms

Managing and prevents of Hypertension

  • Adopt a healthy diet :- you can manage Hypertension to include in your diet fruits, vegetables, whole grain and lean proteins and reduce salt intake
  • Exercise daily:- aim for at least 30 min exercise daily of moderate activities most days of the week
  • Quit smoking and limit alcohol:- these both rises blood pressure over time

Medication for Hypertension

Doctor may prescribed these medications for Hypertension patients

  • Diuretics:- its help Kidney remove excess salt and water
  • Beta blocker :- it’s help to reduce the heart’s workload
  • ACE inhibitors:- its relax blood vessels to lower pressure
